Deepika Padukone launches Care Package Audio Festival to talk about mental health


Deepika Padukone has always expressed her struggle with mental health issues. The actress battled depression and inspired many to work on their mental health. Now, in her latest move, the actress is ready to have a conversation about compassion. She took to social media to launch Care Package, a one-of-a-kind audio festival. It will take place on the Clubhouse app on July 20 between 7 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.


Deepika Padukone, who launched the Live, Love, Laugh Foundation in 2015 to raise awareness about mental illness and fight the stigma around them, knows how to open a dialogue about personal care with Care Package on the Clubhouse app. Sharing the details of the audio festival, Deepika wrote: “I am very happy to launch ‘Care Package’ – An Audio-First Festival that Cares! This package, curated by me, is a box full of conversations and performances from thought leaders around the world who put “care” first. Join me today, July 20, 7-8:30 p.m. IST on Clubhouse! Link in the Bio (sic)! ”

The list of speakers for Care Package includes Jay Shetty, Radhi Devlukia, Jovanny Varelan, Aarthi Ramamurthy (International Manager, Clubhouse), Sriram Krishnan, Paul Davison and Raghava KK. Singer Prateek Kuhad will also perform at the virtual event.

Three themes will be addressed during the Care Package Audio Festival. Entitled “My Relationship with Self-Care”, Deepika Padukone will lead this session with Aarthi Ramamurthy, Raghava KK and Sriram Krishnan. ‘Breathe, By The Artidote’ will be directed by Jovanny Varela. The final segment titled “Love and Care – How is it Different?” Is by Deepika Padukone, Jay Shetty, Radhi Devlukia, Aarthi Ramamurthy and Sriram Krishnan.


Deepika Padukone received the Crystal Award at the World Economic Forum 2020 for mental health awareness. Speaking about her battle with depression, Deepika said in an interview, “There is this perception that if you have it all – fame, money, family – why should one be depressed. It’s important to understand this. what depression is and why it occurs. It is a clinical condition that is beyond your control. This is why I shared my experience: There is a lot of stigma attached to mental illness, help and a lot of misinformation about what it is and why it is happening.It was important for me to be a part of creating that awareness.

On the work side, Deepika Padukone will soon be seen in Shakun Batra’s yet to be titled film. She also has Fighter alongside Hrithik Roshan lined up. Directed by Siddharth Anand, Fighter will be India’s first aerial action franchise.
