TV star Jimmy Carr has written a self-help book to give advice to his son as the 49-year-old star is “going to be an old daddy”
Jimmy Carr wrote a self-help book after fearful that he would one day be “too old” to give advice to his son.
The 49-year-old comedian became a parent when he and his partner Karoline Copping welcomed a baby boy in 2019, and he’s decided to put all of those thoughts into a book for his boy to read in the future.
He said, âI have a child now. I’m going to be an old dad, so by the time I get to give him life advice, I’ll have forgotten everything. I thought, ‘I’m going to put it in a book and he can have it.’ “
The “8 out of 10 cats” host went on to describe his new book “Before & Laughter”, even winking wryly at 18-year-old activist Greta Thunberg.
He told Radio 2: âThis is also a letter to me in my mid-twenties, I had a big change, I was working for an oil company⦠if Greta Thunberg is listening, I’m so sorry. took half of this advice half the time, I’d be a superstar.
News of the star’s self-help book comes after a long period of speculation that Jimmy will become a dad.
The “I Can See Your Voice” star finally confirmed he was a father earlier this year, when he broke the news on stage in a comedic style, during a stand-up show.
He said: âI had to tell my little boy that he was adopted.
“I mean, he’s not, but the look on his face. I said, ‘No, no, no, you’ve been adopted, the new family is coming to pick you up tomorrow.'”
