Tayshia Adams on travel beauty essentials that keep her skin glowing

For many travelers, there is a city in the back of our heads that we would like to live in one day. It’s the place where, when everyday life gets boring or stressful, you dream of packing your bags and flying away. For Tayshia Adams, a former Single/ette competitor and leader, TV host and influencer, that place is London. And this year, she got a taste of what it would be like to do just that, spending two and a half weeks on a solo trip to the UK capital, exploring, eating great food and taking some time to take care of yourself. We caught up with Adams right after her trip to talk packing tips, living on two coasts—Adams splits her time between Southern California and New York—and the beauty essentials that keep her skin looking great despite her long flights— regular mail. Find her top packing tips and favorite travel purchases below.

The trick to packing less

While Adams admits to being carry-on, and kind of a girl’s purse at heart, she’s tried to whittle it down to just a carry-on and a purse when traveling back and forth between New York and Los Angeles lately. Between trips, she will leave some essentials, such as mouthwash, toothpaste and a toothbrush, in her suitcase. But his real thing for under-packing? Organize your suitcase at least a day before the flight, spread everything out on the bed and take photos of complete outfits before it leaves.

“It’s easier to know what I have in my bag and what I’m going to wear [for different occasions]says Adams. “You tend to bring so much more than you need and it ends up sitting in your suitcase. Take photos and bring lots of neutrals; you can create so many outfits with just a few items.

Even if you’re not taking photos, try on outfits before you pack, Adams suggests, to make sure you’ll want a certain top with the matching pants you brought. “More clothes, more problems, honestly. If you try it on first, you have a better idea of what you’re actually going to wear.

Establish a beauty routine

If you’ve seen Adams on TV, you know her skin is glowing, so it’s no surprise she has a skincare routine: “I’ve got my eye cream, there’s two that I’m in love with: the Inkey Caffeine Eye Cream and the SkinMedica Instant Bright Eye Cream. I put on my Phloretin CF from SkinCeuticals, then I go on and put on my No7 Lift and Luminate Day Cream, which serves as my moisturizer and sunscreen, and then I’m done. At night, I’m in love with Good Genes by Sunday Riley. I’m always on the hunt for that bright instant glow; something that helps with fading; No7 and Good Genes both serve this purpose.

Mix up and down

Adams, who is working with British beauty brand No7 as it expands its footprint in the US this year, is pro at mixing high-end items with high-quality but more affordable skincare products. . She discovered No7 at a Boots pharmacy in London and was drawn to Lift and Luminate cream because the two-in-one product served as both moisturizer and sunscreen.
