WonderBus Festival will feature Duran Duran, Lorde, Lumineers

For the first time in Columbus’ three-year history, the WonderBus Music & Arts Festival will be a three-day event.

Hosted at CAS, 2540 Olentangy River Road, the festival kicks off at 6 p.m. Friday with Duran Duran headlining at 9:30 p.m., and the concert lineup continues Saturday and Sunday. Lorde will headline the event on Saturday, with what Elevation Group’s Denny Young called “the biggest, most extravagant production we’ve ever had.” Sunday, the Lumineers will close the last day.

In addition to a powerful entertainment lineup, the festival also focuses on fundraising for mental health awareness and research. In fact, Friday was added to the calendar this year as a mental health fundraising day.

As part of the festival’s “I Believe” campaign, a portion of Friday’s proceeds will benefit The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center and Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

“We felt stronger and better than ever that we were making a real difference in the community, that we partnered with great organizations, and that music is the great unifier in people,” Young said. “At a music festival, we’re all in this together. Now we de-stigmatize mental health issues. You may have issues, but that doesn’t make you a weird or unusual person, it just what it is. There is help available.”

Music, music and more music are on the agenda for the event. Interested in participating? Here’s who’s happening and when throughout the weekend.
